About

Christine Hoy helps exhausted, performance-driven Christian women stop striving and discover the peace and presence of God. Her invitation is simple: live gentler, not harder.

She’s the author of Peace Beyond Perfection: Overcoming the Fear of Not Being Enough and Keeping Company with Jesus: Finding Peace in His Presence, with a third book on the way. Each one carries the same invitation: stop trying to prove your worth, and rest in the security of who you are in Christ.

Through her books, her Substack, The Peaceful Pause, and her communities, The Unhurried Woman Collective and The Unhurried Sisterhood, she walks alongside women as they leave the performance trap behind and step into an unhurried life rooted in Christ. Christine speaks at women’s conferences, retreats, and church events, offering messages that resonate with women longing to exchange the weight of “never enough” for the peace Jesus actually offers.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent too many years trying to do everything “right” — to be the perfect mom, the perfect wife, the perfect Christian, the perfect friend. I know what it’s like to wake up exhausted before the day even begins, feeling trapped in an endless cycle of striving and never measuring up.

My journey out of perfectionism wasn’t a straight line. It was more like learning to swim. Sometimes I made progress, and sometimes I felt like I was drowning in old habits. Just as a swimmer must trust the water to hold them up rather than fighting against it, I had to learn to trust God’s grace rather than struggling to earn my worth.

Through my own story and the stories of women I’ve walked with, I’ve discovered that true peace comes not from perfecting ourselves but from resting in the perfect love of Christ. It wasn’t a formula that set me free. It was learning to stop striving and simply abide in Him.

More than anything, I love walking with women as they lay down their heavy burdens of performance and embrace the light yoke Jesus offers. My greatest joy is seeing women realize they don’t have to earn God’s love or anyone else’s approval. They are already enough in Christ.

When I’m not writing or speaking, you’ll find me bike riding with my husband Brian, walking Zeus (my white lab), being “Gigi” to my three grandsons, or curled up with a good book. And always, keeping company with Jesus.

I’m so glad you’re here. You don’t have to keep striving. There’s a gentler way to live, rooted in Christ, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you discover it.
